Moni, muli bwanji?

So we've now been in Malawi for almost two weeks. We have loved our time here and have seen God working in great ways.

Since last Tuesday we have been spending time with Pastor Moses. We stayed in a town in the north of Malawi called Mzuzu for a few days before heading down to Lilongwe, Malawi's capital city. We were invited to stay with a family in Mzuzu who were so hospitible and kind to us- we're so thankful to them for letting us stay in their home and cooking us some amazing meals! Whilst there, we visited a number of micro finance projects - a way of lending money to people to support them in setting up small businesses, without large interest rates...a really sustainable way of helping people to earn a living. On Saturday we attended a graduation ceremony for students who had completed a diploma in Biblical studies. It was an amazing event - a wonderful way to celebrate the hard work of the students, and a diploma course that has taken them around 9 months to complete. Andy did a short talk which went well, something he's not used to doing, but he enjoyed the opportunity to do it.

On Saturday afternoon we traveled down to Lilongwe. There has been a fuel shortage in Malawi for a few weeks, so we thank God that we managed to get hold of enough fuel to complete the 5 hour journey. Pastor Moses had to wait in a queue for 7 hours in order to get it! something we don't normally need to worry about back in the UK.

We visited the church service on Sunday which was great, then traveled with some of the church members to the Mozambique border to visit a recent church plant, to encourage and strengthen them. It was amazing to be united together as brothers and sisters in Christ.

It has been pretty hot over here, which is a bit strange as we're not used to being so hot in October! It's been about 30 degrees here most days...we've been trying to drink lots of water to give us more energy.

So we're gunna be with Pastor Moses till Wednesday, then we move on to our next destination which is a place called Monkey Bay, to visit a Vineyard Church there. It'll be sad to leave Pastor Moses and his family, but we look forward to the next part of the adventure...

lots of love to you all,

andy&lui xx
