Hope you like the photos we've updated - it took 4hours to upload, so hopefully worth the wait!!
We've arrived safely in Malawi...
It took a very choppy ferry ride from Zanzibar back to Dar Es Salaam where we both didn't think we would make it through-people were passing out all over the floor, not a nice experience for anyone involved!
We loved the Tzara train ride from Dar to Mbeya-this took 29hours, with four portions of chicken&rice, traveling right through a wild bush fire, a 7hour stand still due to two previous trains derailing because of broken track, playing with a number of kids in our cabin and learning the art of eating sugar cane. Our journey was spent with a great American guy which made it all even more lively.
We've been staying in a range of different types of accomodation-varying standards.
Upon arrival in Mbeya we met another few travellers which was great fun as it meant that we could cross the border into Malawi as a group.
We've been in Malawi since Thursday- it seems very different to Tanzania. We're currently staying at a backpackers lodge in Nkhata Bay-with incredible views of Lake Malawi. The people are so friendly here and very welcoming.
Tomorrow we'll be getting the minibus back to Mzuzu where we will spend some time with Pastor Moses. We're really looking forward to connecting with other Christians and seeing how they live out their faith here.
We've been so blessed every day so far - no health concerns, only a couple of bites, have had tasty food, slept well, been in crazy transport shared with chickens and been kept so safe, praise the Lord!!
Sending lots of love to you all from Malawi :)
So glad you're doing well and even more glad that I wasn't on that ferry. I think I'd just have thrown myself overboard!!
